THE MISSING INGREDIENT

I’m releasing a brand new book February 16, 2018 called The Missing Ingredient: The One Thing That Changes Everything. You might be thinking, why another book? After all, over 1 million books are published in the U.S. annually. Do we REALLY need a new book? I was actually reluctant to release a new book until dozens of people insisted these principles were changing their lives and advocated others needed to hear them, too.

It seems the only reason I write a book is when I see something’s not working like it should. Some time back, I began asking myself some difficult questions.

If Jesus promised abundant life, why are so few Christians experiencing it?

Why is it what we say we believe rarely manifests itself with any consistency in our lives?

Why do we find ourselves at the same place year after year?

I thought we were to go from faith to faith, strength to strength, and glory to glory?

It seems we are at the same place in our finances this year as we were last year.

Same place in our marriage this year as we were last year.

Same place in our health (or worse).

Same place in our ministry.

Same place in our career.

Well, you get the picture. How do I get from where I am to where I want to be?

The Discovery

I poured over scriptures and literature about that for hours. I was looking for a key, a missing ingredient that was there all along, but that we had all overlooked. I encountered people of all kinds expressing their frustration trying to get breakthrough or to step into their destiny.

In my pursuit and study, I came across something that shocked me. I discovered what I call “heart beliefs”. I realized that most Christians think faith or belief is cognitive agreement or mental assent. What I saw was that just because you agree about something doesn’t indicate belief. The next discovery was the form and principle of the heart is used 830 times in scripture. For instance, the idea of faith and manifestations of the Kingdom are associated to beliefs of the heart (Prov. 4:23, 23:7).

The missing ingredient is heart beliefs.

My next objective was to set out to see if there is a prescription to target the heart and create a personal belief system. Again, I found it in passages that are often overlooked. The scripture is adamant about being able to write on the tablets of your heart (Prov. 7:1-3, Prov. 3:1-6, 2 Cor. 3:3-16, Heb. 4:12). When the Word of God penetrates the heart, a belief system is born.

In my next blog, I’ll lay out what scripture says is the way to target and utilize the tablets of your heart.
